Enter the Bandara world of pure Asian style where imaginative design has combined with nature for a sanctuary of solace. This 5-star beach resort is a holiday destination for anyone in the world who is in search of well pampering, relaxation, and fun on the beach. Not sure how to enjoy this tropical paradise? We recommend the Bandara Spa which delivers treatments with ultimate
pampering and care. Enjoy tropical gardens, pools, and quiet beaches. Take a day trip to see some of the local sites of Bophut Beach which include Fisherman’s Village or visit Big Buddha, local markets, shopping areas and the bustle of Chaweng. Allow Bandara to welcome you back for a sumptuous seafood dinner in the beach side restaurant, where the gentle lapping waves on the beach will create an ambiance of romance and serenity, which will linger in your mind long after you have returned home. Whether you are on your honeymoon, traveling alone or with the entire family, the truly unique Bandara experience awaits for your next holiday.

Bandara Villa
Treat yourself by staying in one of the 28 Bandara Villas, all of which are designed with tropical splendor to provide priceless solitude. While staying in these villas, it is easy to feel that your family is Bandara’s exclusive guests. It is also easy to understand how after staying in these villas the idea of a box style hotel room just might be impossible to endure. Each villa is landscaped to blend within its own lush garden. The interior is done with a tropical theme of open space and a vaulted ceiling complete with an ornate ceiling fan. For a view of your private garden there is a full width picture window. A personal 3X3 meters pool is also provided allowing for unseen swimming. The pool has an alfresco deck for relaxing on either of the two sun beds, dining, or private Thai massage. Perhaps the most unique attribute of Bandara Villas is the extra large bathroom with a cozy shower, toilet, and twin vanity units. Off of this bathroom is a glass patio door which
opens to a uniguely Bandara secret garden, where an organic sunken bathtub and exotic rain-shower await your personal bliss – nature and luxury have never been so pleasurably combined.
Chom Dao is the idyllic alfresco restaurant to enjoy a romantic moment of the simple pleasure of watching the stars shimmering in the clear night sky. The beachfront terrace restaurant has been designed to face the ocean, along the shoreline and feel the refreshing sea breeze. The high wooden ceiling and rustic decor reflect the relaxed alfresco style and inviting ambiance. This simplistic setting has been well-appointed to focus the attention of guests on the splendid sea view. Twilight on Bandara’s unspoiled beach is a breathtaking and romantic atmosphere which is unforgettable. Chom Dao will indulge you with a full array of exceptional Western cuisine blended harmoniously with delightful authentic Asian dishes and the freshness of delectable seafood.

Koh Samui, in the Gulf of Thailand, is the Kingdom’s third-largest island and a popular holiday destination for tourists from around the world. Previously, the island’s top income-earner was its abundant coconut plantations. But tourism has taken the economic lead over agriculture, with many 3- to 5-star resorts lining the island’s beaches and cliffs. Flights from Bangkok take about an hour, which is roughly the same amount of time that it takes to circumnavigate Samui by car along its winding and hilly coast road. Much of the tourist and property development is along the coastal areas, with the greater part of the island’s hinterland given over to forest and plantation crops.
The island’s infrastructure has improved in line with its tourist and property markets. There is now an international hospital, and a large supermarket chain. Santiburi, the island’s first golf course, is soon to be joined by an 18-hole international course in the hills behind Lamai, and rumours abound of plans for marina. The island’s roads—once the bane of many visitors—have been substantially improved, with one-way systems installed on the busier sections, and expansion to four lanes easing congestion on the hills.
The principal tourist areas of the island are around the beaches of Chaweng and Lamai, on the east coast. Here, the shanty bungalow operations and beachfront bars and restaurants have been predominantly replaced by luxury 4-and 5 star hotel resorts over the last 15 years.
Within the last few years, Samui has seen much growth in its market for luxury homes—the island’s splendid beaches and long high season making it an ideal place for retirement or an extended vacation. Several developments are currently underway, offering a wide selection of views, facilities and prices. Much of this development is along the northern stretch of the island — near Maenam and Bophut beaches — and upon the hilly northeast peninsula, a few minutes from Samui Airport. There are also luxury villa operations near the 5-star Le Meridien resort at Taling Ngam.

A tropical island similar in size to Singapore, Phuket is much more than just a spectacular holiday destination — it is now home to literally thousands of expats who have found the tropical climate, stunning vistas and international standard facilities very much to their liking.
There’s a wealth of recent and new property development on the island, with a wide range of choices, from 10,000 baht-a-month rentals to multimillion-dollar sea view villas. Much of this development has taken particular care to blend in with the outstanding natural scenery, complementing, rather than blighting, the environment.
Phuket’s tourism development has also brought many advantages to expats who have made Phuket their home, with international restaurants of all varieties, multiplex cinemas, supermarkets and department stores to guarantee that all the comforts of home are at hand. The island’s tropical climate means residents can enjoy Phuket’s championship golf courses, tennis courts, acclaimed sailing and diving grounds, exciting watersports and natural wonders all year around.
Phuket’s state-of-the-art telecommunications, world-class schools and hospitals, and its
international airport, with direct flights to major Asian and European capitals, make moving a business or family to paradise an absolute pleasure, which is why so many have decided that Phuket makes the ideal home.
Much of the high-end development for the international market over the last 20 years has been along Phuket’s western coastline, particularly between Bangtao and Patong, and near to the island’s most popular tourist beaches and resorts. However, with land prices along this stretch now very high, developers have begun to look at other areas of the island. Of particular note are the recent announcements of new million-dollar home developments in Kata, Chalong, and Cape Panwa. Large, expansive developments are also planned for the east coast, overlooking scenically magnificent Phang Nga Bay.

Nothing is worse than finding heaven in a brochure onlyto turn up and find your dream is a rubble-strewn ruin. Even though expectations were running high, the lauded Melati Beach Resort & Spa did not disappoint.

THE SCENE
Unlike many resorts that claim to be on the shores of a white sand idyll but turn out to be jutted against a rocky outcrop off which swimmers launch themselves towards the sea at their peril, Melati Beach Resort & Spa sits in spitting distance of the pristine sand of northern Samui’s Thongson Bay. Derived from the Indonesian meaning jasmine, Melati reflects the ambience of fragrant orientalism. Opulent Balinese architecture is blended with traditional Thai salas in lush tropical gardens that back onto the ocean. The resort stands out from its competitors for being awash with peaceful relaxation.

THE ROOMS
The resort houses a range of rooms to suit all budgets, but the real highlight is the Presidential Suite. With ample living quarters and a self-contained adjacent villa for friends, the unit has a private pool perfect for an early morning dip. All rooms are equipped with the most up-to-date amenities. The pillows are some of the most comfortable that my head has ever hit.
DRINK & DINE
There are two tempting choices from which guests can choose. Kan Sak Thong is an upscale dining venue which, despite its classic Thai name, serves a range of pan-Asian cuisine blended with international additions making dining here a bit of an adventure. In particular, their Balinese-inspired spicy duck with shrimp paste sambal and pineapple salad was a hit. Pa-Ngan View is an open-air beachfront restaurant serving fresh seafood and international dishes from an a la carte menu that includes pad Thai, pasta and sandwiches. The view is the real pull here, extending as it does towards Koh Pa-Ngan and beyond.

SOMETHING SPECIAL
The generous space in the separate living room made it cosy enough to bunk down on the sofa while watching the latest horror flick.
IF I HAD ONE QUIBBLE…
…the resort was so large that it took a buggy to get me back to my room. – Jeerawan Duangnam

Diving School
One of the appeals of Samui is the abundance of attractive dive sites just off the island’s shores. With good visibility and a thriving fauna of sea creatures, the outlying islands and coral reefs of Koh Samui are a treat for underwater explorers.
For travelers interested in taking the plunge, the easiest first step is to look for a diving instructor that is PADI-certified. PADI stands for Professional Association of Dive Instructors, and is a mark of assurance that safety is of the highest priority. Dive shops offering such instruction can be found on every part of Koh Samui, and even in some of the resorts themselves.

Over the, course of the beginner SCUBA diver course <Gpen Water 1), studentslearn essentials,as the purpose and correct use of every single piece of dive gear how ta achieve neutral buoyanty using dive tables (so yeu don’t get the bends), and communicating with your partner underwater (not quite proper–conversations, but signaling tidbits tike I’m running out of air that would probably be useful). ” ,
And once you are completely at ease with the.fact you “are actually breathing underwater you can proudly boast of being a ‘certified SCUBA diver” and concentrate on new things like testing out-your waterproof camera on the fish and’coral.
With eight locations throughout the Island, Samui International Diving
School Incorporating Planet Scuba is probably your best bet when starting out with over 20 years of experience in Scuba Diving in Koh Samui and Koh Tao. They are the first,Scuba Diving Center in Thailand to be awarded the prestigious PADI Career Development Center Rating (CDC) and have received of many awards from PADI over the years such as the “1994 Excellence in Dive Resort Operation and in received the “1999
Outstanding Commitment to PADI* Award
